Hyderabad ID Fresh Food, a Bengaluru-based ready-to-cook food manufacturer, quashes social media post that accused the company of using animal extracts in its products. The viral post also accused the company of 'employing only Muslims'.

The viral social media post goes like this, "All the Chennai stores and supermarkets are selling the idly and dosa paste produced and marketed by ID Foods. Do you know they mix cow bones and calf rennet to make volume of the batter? How many really know that this company employs only Muslims and is halal certified?" A shorter version of the same post has been shared on Twitter by multiple handles. The post goes on to add, "Every single Hindu should refrain from ID batter and products."

The company, which is known for its ready-to-cook idly and dosa batter, was founded by P C Musthafa. The company said that they had to issue an official statement given the intensity of misinformation that was being spread in social media posts.

"We would like to clearly specify that ID uses only vegetarian ingredients to make its products. The idly and dosa batter is made from rice, urad dal, fenugreek and RO water only, which are 100 per cent natural and vegetarian agro-commodities. There are no animal extracts used in any of our products," a statement from company said.

Ever since the company issued the statement regarding the viral post, support has been pouring in for the company and its founder with many vouching for their food products.
